Drake warns of potentially reviving his feud with Kendrick Lamar through provocative new track

Drake Kendrick Lamar Feud

Drake has released three new songs out of the blue — and they might just spark round two of his battle with Kendrick Lamar.

On Friday (August 23), the Canadian artist released three new tracks on his secret Instagram account. Earlier this month, he also unveiled a set of unreleased songs through the same account, aiming to recover from what seemed like a loss in the beef.

The new releases include “SOD,” a collaboration with Lil Yachty that was recently leaked but now does not include the Atlanta rapper, along with “Circadian Rhythm” and “No Face,” which includes guest vocals from Playboi Carti.

Drake's recent comments have sparked the most discussion among fans, particularly due to his pointed remarks seemingly directed at Kendrick Lamar and other rappers he clashed with in April and May.

“N-ggas got lit off the features I skated on / I gotta know, I gotta know / How you get lit off the n-gga you hatin’ on? / Numbers untouchable, they got the data wrong,” he raps, appearing to reference his guest verses for the likes of A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd and Future while casting doubt on Kendrick eclipsing many of his streaming records with “Not Like Us”.

“This is the moment I realize they have been praying on me / What? Hey, what? Hey / They try to bring me down, but I'm determined to stay strong / They keep sending me challenges to overcome / I keep reminding myself to be patient / We are changing the game for so many people.”

In his second verse, Drizzy elaborates: "My therapist has given a 30-day notice because I persist in discussing conflicts, business, money, and women. There is no diagnosis, they unloaded the clip," showcasing a style reminiscent of Kendrick Lamar in the final line.

He proceeds to caution his rivals: "Hurry, replace that item, and I returned fully prepared. I am delighted that those who envied and concealed their feelings can now reveal them. I am extremely happy, we will meet again soon. I am expanding my horizons, emerging from my comfort zone. I am focused on my work in the studio, secluded in the room, what?"

Continuing with the Kendrick Lamar references, “Circadian Rhythm” appears to allude to a lyric from his diss track “6:16 in LA”, where he mentions living in the rhythmic patterns of a shooting star despite the associated costs.

Drake referred to the song as "The Language 2," suggesting that it is a follow-up to his 2013 track from Nothing Was the Same, where he subtly addressed Kendrick's impactful "Control" verse.

Currently, "SOD," "Circadian Rhythm," and "No Face" can only be streamed on Instagram, but they might soon be available on streaming platforms such as Drake's previously mentioned 100 GIGS singles "It's Up," "Blue Green Red," and "Housekeeping Knows."
